Fluke fever is on here at The Fancy Fluke! Yesterday’s New York/Connecticut opening day did not disappoint. Pink was the hot color all over Long Island Sound as Fluke fisherman took to the water in force. Flounder are here and holding up in their typical early season haunts in Western LIS from Norwalk to Fairfield. Squid, Spearing and Ottertails™ proved to be the perfect cocktail for hungry fish. May 11, 2017 Fishing Report

May 11, 2017 Water temperatures remain in the low 50s during this second week in May. As expected, a slow week for Striped Bass activity in the sound. The Herring run is certainly in full swing but with bait far out numbering Bass, it’s not quite as easy to hook up on SP Minnow in a sea of fish food. The exception right now is the Housatonic from the mouth inland to the Derby Dam which remains hot for local fisherman. May 3, 2017 Fishing Report

  May 3, 2017 Spring is here and there are only two things on our mind this week, Bait and Bass. Last week's reports of shallow water Tautog mean that temperatures have warmed and the spring run is underway.  Harbors all over Western CT have seen an influx of herring, sea worms and varying small baitfish.
